Photo Rank Privacy Policy

Overview

Photo Rank helps you compare and rank photos that you choose from your own photo library. No account or login is required, and Photo Rank does not sell personal information or use data for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Information We Collect

Photo Rank collects limited, privacy-conscious product analytics to understand how the app is used and to improve the ranking experience. These analytics may include anonymized app-install identifiers, event names, coarse timestamps, app and device metadata provided by the analytics SDK, and low-cardinality event properties such as photo-count buckets, comparison-count buckets, duration buckets, and whether a rank overlay was included when sharing.

Information We Do Not Collect

Photo Rank does not collect or transmit photos, image data, file names, album names, user-created set names, photo dates, photo locations, photo library local identifiers, share destinations, share activity types, contact information, precise location, or arbitrary text entered in the app.

Photo Library Access

Photo Rank only accesses photos that you select or authorize through iOS photo library permissions. You remain in control of which photos are available to the app.

Local Processing and Storage

Photos are processed, compared, and ranked locally on your device. Photos, photo metadata, and ranking content are stored locally on your device, and Photo Rank does not upload them to external servers. Analytics events describe app usage in aggregate terms and do not include the content of your photos or sets.

Sharing

Shared content leaves Photo Rank only when you explicitly use the standard iOS share sheet and select a destination. Any information shared after that point is handled by the destination app or service you choose.

Third-Party Services

Photo Rank uses TelemetryDeck for product analytics. TelemetryDeck receives the limited analytics described in this policy and is used only to understand app usage and improve the product. Photo Rank does not use advertising SDKs, attribution SDKs, tracking technologies, cookies, or tracking pixels.

Data Retention and Deletion

Ranking data remains locally on your device. You can delete ranking data by deleting sets within the app. You can remove all locally stored app data by deleting Photo Rank from your device. Analytics events already sent to TelemetryDeck are retained according to TelemetryDeck's service practices and do not include your photos, photo metadata, set names, or user-entered content.

Children’s Privacy

Photo Rank is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app's analytics are limited to privacy-conscious product usage data and do not include photos, photo metadata, set names, or user-entered content.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
